Welcome to the Story Tellers Website!

Story Tellers are a species of animal spirits that are created when a Theater puts on a show so moving that the crowds emotions run wild. All of those intense emotions give birth to the spirit, who is often based on the story that was being told. These spirits live on to continue telling these stories so that they do not become lost to time.

What Is A Story Teller?

Story tellers are a species of animal spirit that are born from the emotions of an audience watching a theatre performance. The spirit that is born as a result is the keeper of the story that was told during their birth and that is how stories are properly kept and passed down in their world.
The Story tellers visually will often have things that pertain to their stories as well!
1. Can I use existing stories? Or can I make my own?
൦ Both! It is up to the designer if they want to use an existing story or create their own story for their Story Teller's lore!
2. My oc looks like a Story Teller....Is that okay?
൦ Yeah absolutely. I don't own the individual ideas that make up story tellers, its them as a whole and their lore, world, and story that makes them what they are!
3. Can I commission / request someone to design my MYO slot?
൦ You may request or set up a trade for this type of transaction yes but only guest artists may make story tellers in return for money/usd!
4. Can I redesign my Story Teller?
൦ You may! However redesigns must be approved by staff and must resemble the original design in some way.
5. How do I upgrade traits on my Story Teller?
൦ You can obtain Items of higher rarity to upgrade your MYO or official design at any time!
6. Can I put accessories/clothes for my Story Teller?
൦ You can yes! There are no restrictions on clothes so long as they are not used as loopholes to get around other existing mutations.
7. How many mutations can I put on a Story Teller?
൦ There is no limit as long as you have the proper items.
8. Can you mix traits?
൦ So long as they are not used as loopholes to get around existing mutations yes.
9. Can we use / draw our Story Tellers in prompts or art if they're not on masterlist yet?
൦ Yes however you may not trade/gift/sell them until they are properly registered.
10. Is there a cooldown on trading/gifting/selling my Story Teller?
൦ As long as they are on the masterlist, you can trade/gift/sell them at any time.

Rules / T.O.S

By choosing to participate in the Story Teller species, it is assumed that you have read through and agree to the terms listed. By purchasing or gaining ownership of a story teller, you automatically agree to these terms.
Our species runs on a three strike system, however severe offenses will return more severe punishment. If banning occurs your designs will be rendered as void/no longer official and you will be removed from story teller spaces.

1. Ownership/Creation
൦ Story Tellers are a Closed Species meaning you may not create your own official story teller without an MYO slot or explicit permission from CheapBones (the species creator).
൦ Story Tellers uses a Masterlist system to document authenticity. Make sure to use it to not only check that a ST is real, but to register any that you come to own.
൦ MYO slots are used to create your own Story teller with the rarity allowed by the slot provided. All designs must be approved before they are considered official and must adhere to the species design rules and anatomy.
൦ Once an MYO slot design is approved and made official the slot no longer exists and the design is put on the masterlist as an approved Story Teller.
൦ Users cannot invent traits when creating their Story tellers however suggestions for new traits are welcome to be submitted to CheapBones.
൦ Only users with permission from CheapBones may create official Story Tellers such as Guest Artists.
൦ Community members are allowed to help friends design their myo slots however without a slot these designs are not official. If taking commissions you must openly state that these designs are not official and that the user will need their own myo slot.
൦ You are always welcome to void a design for any reason at any time, just ask!
൦ Voided designs are not able to be used in the species or participate in its events. However designs can be unvoided by their rightful owners.
൦ Redesigns are allowed but MUST be approved by active staff members. Redesigned Story tellers must look somewhat like the original.
൦ Revoking of designs is strictly FORBIDDEN. It can not and will not ever be done in the species by staff or members.
2. Purchase Terms
൦ Users must be 16+ or older in order to purchase MYO slots, items, or other group items. Official Moderators and Guest Artists reserve the right to decline service to those under 18 at their own discretion.
൦ All purchases will be conducted via PayPal for USD unless stated otherwise by the artist. When using PayPal, it's understood that you're also abiding to their TOS. If paying via credit or debit card, you must be the card holder. Users under 18 are expected to have permission from a parent or guardian to ensure the safety of our artists.
൦ Refunds are unavailable for purchases, unfortunately. Understand that anything purchased from our community is a virtual, intangible item that will not be shipped to you. Anyone caught sending chargebacks to artists will be subject to immediate termination as this is viewed as scammy behavior.
൦ We value to safety and protection of the artists working on the Story Teller Creative Team. As such, our artists reserve the right to decline business to those they may be uncomfortable working with. We ask you respect their decisions and do not pester or harass artists with the intention to belittle them or gain something. Users who disrespect our artists are subject to a community strike.
൦ Auctions with autobuys must honor that the highest possible autobuy is an instant sale. To try and bid higher once the autobuy is reached will not be considered as it is unfair to the bidders and goes against the idea that an autobuy is an instant purchase. We ask that bidders respect eachother and their bids.
൦ If a tiered auction is set up and has multiple autobuys it may continue even if the first tier is reached GIVEN that the bidders and auctioneer agree. However if an autobuy is reached or the last possible tier is reached that ends the auction. This applies both to guest artists and members of our community who wish to partake in auctions.
3. Selling and Trading Terms
൦ Story Tellers can be traded for whatever you please so long as both parties agree to a trade/transaction and there is no scamming occurring.
൦ Members are required to update the masterlist entries upon rehoming their Story Teller. The previous owner or the new owner can update these entries so long as we receive confirmation from both parties or viable proof of the transaction.
Failure to update these logs may result in a strike as, depending on the severity, this can be seen as scammy behavior.
൦ You're expected to be honest about your Story Teller's value, and not to scalp them for more than their worth. We will not police how much you sell your Story Teller for, but we do encourage members to be fair when rehoming their Story Teller to avoid design scalping.
൦ Story Teller can be resold for the original price they were purchased for + any value that was added on via commissioned art, item usages or pets they may have soul-bound to them.
൦ If Story Teller with monetary value are traded, gifted, or rehomed without an exchange of currency, they will retain their value. All MYO Story Teller begin at a base price of $25 USD.
൦ Story Teller that were required by free means (freebies, free raffles, contests, etc.) they start at a base value of $0 and cannot be sold until their value raises. Value can be raised by additional art, physical items, etc.
൦ You are not allowed to steal, revoke, or forcefully take back a Story Teller. Once you've traded or sold it, it's out of your hands and you no longer control what happens to it. Doing this will result in an immediate ban.
൦ Co-owns are allowed but they will not be recognized in our official masterlist. If you do choose to co-own your Story Teller, you cannot sell the co-own rights. These must remain free.
൦ Any form of scamming will not be tolerated and will result in an automatic ban. This means selling a Story Teller that you know belongs to someone else, making illegitimate Story Teller and selling/trading them, etc.
4. Community Guidelines
൦ You must be 13 years or older to participate in compliance with COPPA.
൦ Despite our community being largely Discord-based, you're required to have at least 1 viable social media account we can list your inventory / masterlist entries under. Acceptable social medias include DeviantArt, Twitter, Toyhou.se, Instagram, etc. We will not create inventories or masterlist entries for users who lack the appropriate social media. Logs that already exist without corresponding media links will be frozen until a new handle is provided.
൦ Users found intentionally exploiting systems for monetary gain, using cheats to gain items or MYOs, etc. will be subject to an immediate ban. Members of the group are expected to be truthful regarding their item usages, purchases, etc. Anyone caught falsifying this information is subject to a strike.
൦ Any form of harassment or guilt-tripping to a mod or fellow community member will result in you earning a strike.
൦ We are an inclusive community with many different people from varying walks of life. Because of this, any bigoted behavior towards others will result in disciplinary actions. We believe all members should act good faith when interacting with others, and to do their best to be kind and respectful to their follow community members. Imploring basic human respect is the least you can do to ensure members of our community do not feel ostracized.
൦ Usage of slurs, hateful language, or direct insults on other members are not allowed. Racist, transphobic, homophobic, and sexist remarks fall under this category.
൦ Light swearing is permitted in the server, but heavy usage of expletives aimed at others with the intention of harming them are prohibited.
൦ Conversations regarding sensitive topics such as politics are not allowed. We do allow people to discuss their religious practices and cultures, but members found being hateful towards these individuals will be issued a warning or strike depending on the severity.
൦ We only allow conversations of these topics if you're attempting to raise awareness to real-life issues. We encourage users to share resources, GoFundsMe's, or other ways to help during unprecedented times in our world.
൦ Conflict is something we cannot avoid, but we ask that conversations regarding gossip and drama be excluded from our server. This includes namedropping users, sharing links to call-out posts, etc.
൦ Users found to be perpetuating drama by actively and openly participating in it may be subject to a strike depending on the severity. While your opinions and critiques of the group are vital to its growth, members who seek to tear others down and belittle others will be dealt with accordingly.
൦ Story Teller Moderators will not step into or involve themselves in the personal disputes of members. Please only contact moderators regarding issues related to the species. (Potential scams, predatory individuals, art theft, etc.)
൦ Please do not attempt to step into any conflicts you see. In the event this may occur, please alert a moderator to the issue so that we may aid how we can.
൦ In the event you find yourself engaged in conflict with another user, please take it to DMs to settle it yourself. If anything, we encourage you to block and move on as not everyone is expected to get along.
൦ Story Teller is owned and operated within the United States, and therefore adheres to the laws and policies at the federal level. As a result, users found to be committing crimes within our server will be subsequently banned from the species.
Depending on the severity of the crime, we may take action even if it occurs outside of our community and forums.
5. Suspensions/Bans
൦ We run on a 3-Strike System, with the final strike resulting in a ban from our community. (Note: Admins and mods reserve the right to ban members who have proved to be problematic without invoking the 3-strike rule.)
൦ The Story Tellers Moderation staff works together heavily to review situations and assess them as a collective before making decisions regarding warnings, strikes, and bans. We may reach out to various parties for evidence if needed and work diligently towards a fair and just punishment.
൦ Suspensions limit the activities you can participate in within the ARPG for a set amount of time. Suspended users may, for example, loose their ability to roll for daily pets, participate in prompts, etc.)
൦ Banned users cannot return to participate in the ARPG after initial termination. If you feel you were banned unfairly, you're free to contact one of our mods for a ban appeal request.
6. Art Usage Terms
൦ The Story Teller community/ARPG is heavily art-based and welcomes artists of any and every skill level to join. Art theft of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in a strike if you're found to be intentionally stealing from another artist.
൦ Tracing and heavily referencing is prohibited. If you happen to come across something you feel has been stolen, alert a moderator.
൦ Please do not edit someone elses' art without their explicit permission beforehand. This applies to any official asset artwork included on the Story Teller carrd.
൦ Please refrain from giving unwarranted critiques to artists unless they've requested it themselves.
൦ Critiques may be provided by moderators when submitting artwork for prompts, character approval, masterlist usage, etc. This is to ensure that all artwork being used as an official image meets our standards.
൦ When submitting art, it's expected that the art is your own original creation or has been credited to its rightful artist. If submitting art you did not make, it is required you provide us an accurate credit for the image.
൦ The Story Teller ARPG does not claim any art submitted by its members, and your art will never be resold or redistributed. We do, however, retain the right to display member artwork on our websites. (Example; a monthly art feature)
൦ Do not promote illegal or adult artwork in our group. We strive to keep the environment PG-13 and family friendly.
൦ Any NSFW depictions of your Story Teller are not allowed to be shared in our server. Gore artwork is allowed, but it must be tagged appropriately (ex. CW: Gore) and contain a spoiler.
